The times, they are a-changin'.

My daughter is now 4.5 years old. She even made some photos on her own - both with a smartphone and my DSLR. Me, I also shot some frames; just hadn't have time to upload them here. You know, from all those photos, you have to choose something, edit, and upload. Instagram seems to be much easier; but it also serves as a quick'n'dirty way to share my way of looking at the world. DA is different. That's why I would like to come back here again for a while. I am about to change my job again; I will have more free time in April (vacation between jobs) and maybe then I will upload some new photos. There will be quite a few with Marianna, my kid, but not only her. I might re-upload some Instagram stuff as well, maybe?...

Taking photos is an activity that requires detachment from current events; I need to become an observer in order to take a reasonably good photo. I can't be a participant and photographer at the same time.

This gets us directly to the very reason why there is nothing new here for some time. I'm recently busy living my life. On June 11^th I've became a father, I've also changed my job. This leaves little or no time for any hobby But rest assured, I will come back. Although most of my work will revolve around my daughter but I will try to keep my eye sharp on everything around me, not only her.

I'm thinking about some upgrades. Like a subscription here on deviantArt. I just think what actually it gives me? That I can rearrange my profile page? It would be handy, I could show off my best works. But what else? Portfolios? That's nice, too. Is that all? Is the price fair? I'm hesitating. Another upgrade is my photo gear. Well that's gonna cost me a lot more than dA subscription I need some more lens, like very wide angle lens (Sigma 10-20 for example); I'd love to have a better standard zoom, something like 28-70mm f/2.8, and a telephoto, with stabilization. But first thing would be the body. I dream about Canon EOS 7D. There are rumours that Canon should announce some new DSLRs soon; I hope that old ones would get cheaper then I gotta start saving money...

Recently I had a short vacation. It was raining the whole week. Nevertheless we didn't want to sit at home and watch tv. We were walking in woods, just as if there was no rain at all. But I couldn't take any photos (or very little).

Just the last day before we left Zwierzyniec (small town where we found a place to sleep) the weather got better. In the evening there was some mist and I thought that it will be there again just before sunrise. So next morning, around 4 a.m. I took my camera and I went for photo hunting. Effects? Here you go: Ancient forest is my the most favourited deviation ever!
